- up (sounds like "op") - and he reaches up with his arms. This means "Pick me up, please."
- hi ("aye") - and he waves with one hand
- eat ("eet") - and he signs "eat" at the same time
- water ("wawa")
- shoe ("joo")
- tree ("jee")
- flower ("ow")
- apple ("ah-poh")
And then there are a few animal sounds that he knows....
- a dog says "ooh ooh"
- a lion says "woaw"
- a monkey says "ooh ooh ah"
- a chicken says "bah bah bah BAH"
- a cow says "ooooh"
And he's already trying to make "sentences" which sound like string of sounds that he says very loudly while pointing. Something like, "Ga ba gat gat do ba GAH!!!" I love that.
Three times yesterday I heard that he's pretty advanced with his verbal skills for being just 15-months. Once from a teacher, once from a nurse and once from a doctor. He should have about 4-5 words, but he's definitely got more than that. Even excluding the animal sounds. :-)
