Milestones

Ladies and gentleman, we have a walker. Leo has been taking steps for about a couple of months (my guess). At first he would just kind of stumble forward upright. But as he got a little more deliberate, we were counting his steps. Last weekend (4th of July), he was maxing out at about 7 or 8 steps at a time before either falling down or giving up. But as of 7.12.09, Mommy & Daddy's 6-year wedding anniversary, we're losing track of the counts. Well, except for Steven counting 30 steps at a time last night. In my book, that's walking! So we're officially saying that we have a walker! Oh man.
And while we're on the topic of milestones, here are the words that he says as of now (two days shy of being 15 months old):
  • ball (sounds like "baoh") - this HAS to be his favorite word
  • dog ("dah-guh") -this was his first word but it's in 2nd place now that he can say ball
  • Daddy ("daddy") - love this
  • Uh-oh ("uh oh") - anytime something hits the ground, accidental or not
  • bubble ("bu-boh") - this can also mean bath since there are bubbles in his baths
  • bottle ("ba-boh") - there's a very subtle difference between bubble and bottle
  • bye-bye ("baa baa" like a true Texan)
  • hat ("dat") - still working on this one
  • light ("dat") - sounds like "hat" but he's pointing at the light when he says it
  • banana ("bah")
  • Yo Gabba Gabba ("g-gahb" or something like that) - he loves this show
  • Mama ("mama") - he reserves this one for true times of need. (Sigh.)

And he makes animal noises and will attempt to say almost any word you give him. But these are the ones that he's pretty darn good at and needs minimal, if any, prompting.
